VERA WINTER MEETING 29th September @ 7.30pm ‘THE BLACKPOOL STORY part 4’

Categories:Special events

Our next winter meeting will NOT be on Zoom as we have now been able to return to live presentations. Our new meeting venue is Patcham Community Centre, Ladies Mile Road, Patcham, Brighton, BN1 8TA, commencing at 7.30pm. (Doors open 7pm)

On 29th September Blay Whitby returns to continue the story of Britain’s only survivng first generation tramway. He picks up the tale in the dark days of the 1960s when it looked like even Blackpool’s trams would not survive much longer.

Doors open at 7.00pm, and the talk will begin at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be available and there is no admission charge for members and guests – but donations would be appreciated to help us cover expenses. Our November meeting will be on November 24th and is entitled ‘How Doctor Beeching saved the railways’, an interesting thought!  More details to follow.
