CARS 6 & 10 ARE NEARLY READY TO RUN AGAIN
Work on Cars 6 & 10 electrical control systems have been proceeding quietly in the new sheds over the past few months. Car 6, delivered on 14th February 2018, has been briefly tested out on the line but needs to have some mechanical work done before it can be fully certified for public service. Car 10, the ‘baby’ of the fleet at a mere 92 years old, was delivered on 30th April 2018 and is currently having new relays installed in the control boxes.
When both cars are finished and fully tested it is most likely that they will form a ‘pair’ again, one having a saloon, the other all ‘toastrack’ seating. They have run previously together for many years before being separated when defects were found in the old bodywork.
When these two are finished the railway will have six operational cars, nos 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10. Further announcements will be made when all are ready.
